What to see in New York

If you are thinking of going or you already have a trip planned to see New York, you are not going to be short of things to do and see. Central Park – Central Park is a stunning park with a huge amount to offer everyone. Made insanely popular by the hit TV show Friends, Central Park is much more than the name initially suggests. There are restaurants, elegant cafes, a zoo, a museum, an ice rink and many playgrounds for the children to release their pent up energy. Central park crosses a huge 2 and half miles all the way from 59^th and finishing at 110^th Street and another half a mile from the famous Fifth Avenue to Eighth Avenue, and is a fully manicured and landscaped park.

Empire State Building – The Empire State Building used to hold the title of tallest skyscraper in the world. It no longer holds this title, but still has its original class, charm and wonder. It has an incredible 102 floors and has a rich and varied history associated to it. It was originally built in 1931 and has an observatory available to the public on floor 86.

New York Public Library – this library open since 1911 is a great visitor attraction. There are many exhibits and attractions within the museum on a regular basis and is the home to the two lions Patience and Fortitude. It is a truly beautiful building that is not to be missed when in New York.

The Statue of Liberty – The Statue of Liberty is the first thing people see when first coming to America via Ferry from certain destinations. She was actually a present from France on America being a young, new country. A stunningly beautiful lady that is not to be missed – make sure you make your date with the lady of liberty.

If you are travelling to New York with children there are lots of things to engage and thrall them. There are lots of museums that are geared specifically to children such as the New York Hall of Science, the Brooklyn Children’s museum, the Children’s Museum of the Arts and many, many more.
